Arusha November 2024

Our trip to Tanzania - help that arrives!

In November, the time had finally come: we, Ella and Janis, the two board members of our association, travelled to Arusha, Tanzania - with 46 kg of toys and clothes in our luggage! Our first destination was the Faraja orphanage, where we were welcomed with open arms. Ella still knew some of the children from when she volunteered at the orphanage in 2021. The children were delighted with the presents we had brought them - they spent the next few days playing, making things and running around. Especially the reunion with Ayoub, our local partner at the orphanage, was a big hello.

Another important destination on our trip was the Davis Preparatory School, which is just a ten-minute walk from the orphanage. This is where some of the children who receive an education thanks to your donations are taught. Ella and her family also have two sponsored children from Faraja at the school, who have been taught there for three years. It was wonderful to see how motivated and happy the children are to learn there and how good their English has become - real proof that our support is working.

Thanks to the generous donations from our crowdfunding, we were able to make targeted purchases at the local market in Arusha with Ayoub's help:

✅ Oil, pasta and rice for the daily supply

✅ Peanut butter - an important source of energy for children

✅ A washing machine so that the orphanage's helpers, who are already overloaded with work, don't have to wash everything by hand every day

✅ A special cream for the treatment of skin fungus

✅ Firewood for the kitchen of the orphanage

✅ Pizza and drinks for all children and carers

✅ Footballs, backpacks and much more

Here are a few impressions of the trip:

This trip has shown us once again how much we can achieve together. Thank you to everyone who supports us! Every donation counts - and goes exactly where it is needed.

By the way: The next visit to Arusha by a founding member of the association is planned for November 2025!
